Alex and her talents are perfectly captured in songs such as “Shine”, “More Than You Know”, and others. In addition to CDs and digital downloads, this recording will also be available as in video format, so you can see the music being played!

SCUTTLEBUTT
Ross Wooldridge and his Tribute to
ARTIE SHAW AND HIS GRAMERCY 5

A new addition to the library is Ross’ tip of the hat to swing era clarinet legend
Artie Shaw and his Gramercy 5. Shaw’s famous small group was formed in 1940 in response to the hits that were being created by Benny Goodman and his trio, quartet and sextet. Ever the one to do things his own way, Shaw decided that he would employ a sound never heard in jazz before, and hence the first version of the Gramercy 5 featured Johnny Guarnieri on the unusual choice of a harpsichord instead of piano. A jazz first! Sparsely recorded with only two sessions in 6 years for RCA, Shaw switched the instrumentation back to the piano for the second recording session in 1945. This collection features selections culled from two live performance recordings, and features another spectacular lineup of the best in Canadian jazz. Yes, there really is a harpsichord!!
Available in CD and digital download format.

This is a recording of the Benny Meets Artie show’s debut performance at the Port Hope All Canadian Jazz Festival. In the planning stage since his teen years, this show represents the realization of something Ross has always wanted to do – pay tribute to the fabulous music of the two clarinetists that influenced him the most. Revel in the stunning recreations of the best of the best of Shaw and Goodman’s big band hits – “Begin the Beguine”, “Let’s Dance”, “Mission to Moscow”, “King Porter Stomp”, “Moonglow”, “Don’t Be That Way”, “s’Wonderful” and many others. In addition to CDs and digital downloads, this recording will also be available as in video format, so you can see the music being played!

The latest recording from the Galaxy Orchestra is a sizzling and fun-filled retrospective of the finest music from the number one big band ever, Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. This incredible 2 volume set features 29 of Miller’s best and most loved hits – from “Moonlight Serenade” to “In the Mood”, with vocals by Ian Jutsun, Robin Lea and Canada's finest 4-man vocal group The Debonaires recreating the fabulous harmonies of the Modernaires, Miller’s signature vocal group. This spectacular recording was captured in front of a sold out audience of more than 1000 in the J.W. Ennis Auditorium of Centennial Secondary School in Welland Ontario. Listen to both volumes back to back and experience the entire concert - delight in such hits as “Juke Box Saturday Night”, “Chattanooga Choo Choo”, “At Last”, “I Know Why”, “String of Pearls”, “Sunrise Serenade”, “Song of the Volga Boatmen” and many many more. Sit back as we embark on a voyage of discovery to uncover the forgotten jewels of the lyric - THE VERSE. Often lost to the mists of time, the Great North American Songbook offers hundreds of examples of buried  treasure in Verses – those forgotten bits of music that precede the well-loved and well-remembered refrain. Typically from the original musical or movie, these verses add import and further relevance to the lyric of the popular refrain.

Last but most certainly NOT least...
An album of music by vocalist Brenda Brown.

Life Among Giants

As a producer and arranger, rarely does one get the opportunity to produce an
artist of the calibre of Brenda Brown.
What an honour and privilege.  It's the best thing I've ever done.

A top flight concert orchestra, the best recording studio and a simply fantastic, lush and rich record reminiscent of the great albums of the postwar era by such artists as Doris Day and Ella Fitzgerald.
